LEAGUE GATHERING: Wine, Women & Wisdom Gathering | JUSTLIKEMYCHILD.ORG

The League Savors Some Wine, Women & Wisdom

Sommelier Laura Williamson and Dr. Joan Rosenberg contribute wine and wisdom to The League women.

On October 7, 2018, The League gathered for “Wine, Women & Wisdom”—an afternoon of like-minded women indulging our souls with a new perspective on feminine leadership.

We explored how our power within is essential to the rise and transformation of the world, one girl at a time.

This League Gathering featured the following special guests and speakers:

Laura Williamson, MS, CWE

Laura Williamson, MS, CWE is one of only 25 female Master Sommeliers in the world, the most rigorous designation in the wine industry. With her guidance, we sampled and learned the history and nuances of fine wine made by female vintners that she hand-selected for our Gathering.

Dr. Joan Rosenberg

Dr. Joan Rosenberg presented “90 Seconds to a Life You Love: How to Master Your Difficult Feelings to Cultivate Lasting Confidence, Resilience, and Authenticity.” We learned five key tools for unwavering self-confidence, which include speaking up with greater ease, ending harsh self-criticism, the real reason for taking in compliments, and creating a vision for your future.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE LEAGUE

The League is a network of extraordinary women leaders who support Just Like My Child Foundation’s (JLMC) mission to empower vulnerable adolescent girls through the Girl Power Project®. Our League Gatherings are a series of events designed to mobilize members into self care, connection, and community—and doing the next right thing.

Follow JLMC on Instagram @justlikemychild and Facebook @justlikemychildfoundation for to meet League members and get updates on the upcoming League Gatherings.

Since its founding by Vivian Glyck in 2006, Just Like My Child Foundation has developed deep partnerships with rural communities in Africa to deliver sustainable programs that address health care, education, microenterprise, social justice, and women/girls’ empowerment. Through that work, JLMC organically came to understand that focusing on vulnerable adolescent girls is a powerful approach to disrupting the cycle of poverty. Today, Just Like My Child Foundation is focused on its mission to empower vulnerable adolescent girls by enabling them to create healthy, self-sustaining families who prosper without further aid.
