Audrey Kanyesigye joined Just Like My Child Foundation in 2011, working tirelessly with our partners in Uganda and mobilizing communities to implement the Girl Power Project® in central Uganda. Audrey is a highly respected individual with phenomenal communication, diplomacy, and leadership skills. She is also a fun loving and hysterical team member with an uncanny ability to crack a joke and lighten the mood at the most appropriate moments.
With a Bachelors Degree in Community Development, Audrey previously assisted AIDS Information Center as an HIV/AIDs counselor. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant for the International HIV/AIDS Alliance who was working in partnership with the Ministry of Gender in providing quality assurance training and developing the National Strategic Policy Plan for all NGO’s working with orphans and vulnerable children.
Audrey is from Kampala, Uganda’s bustling capital city, and says her greatest challenge has been coming to terms with the harsh realities on the ground in rural areas, like seeing children studying daily without lunch because their parents can’t afford it. She is proud to be working with an organization dedicated to positive and lasting change in communities with painful and difficult pasts.
